Davido Disowns Deekay From The HKN Record Label
Davido and Deekay must have fallen out in some way or might be that the HKN frontliner has given up on Deekay.
It only took a subtle tweet from Davido to suggest that Davido has dropped Ghanaian artist, Deekay from the HKN record label. He also revealed that he will be signing a new artist to HKN gang soon.
In Davido’s words;

However things got a little more personal this morning with Madam Kemi claiming Linda had wrecked marriages. Madam Kemi further went on to accuse Linda Ikeji of sleeping and breaking up D’Banj’s relationship and the marriage of Dan Foster.
Of course we don’t know how true these accusations are but one thing we are sure off is the bad blood between Linda Ikeji and Madam Kemi Olunloyo.

Meek Mill just went there with Drake! Although things have seemed to be pretty cool between Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend and best friend following their weeks-long feud at the end of summer, it looks like Meek is ready to heat things back up again on his new mixtape DreamChasers 4. But isn’t he taking things a LITTLE too far by bringing guns into the whole thing?!
After Meek started the war, the 29-year-old didn’t hold back from defending himself. Just days after he caught wind of Meek’s original slam, Drizzy released the track “Charged Up,” in which he takes multiple stabs at the rapper, and it wasn’t the only diss track — he also called out Nicki and Meek’s relationship on the track “Back To Back,” by singing about how Nicki is so much more successful than Meek.

While Meek still seems to be stuck in this fight, though, Drake has clearly moved on. In fact, on Dec. 21, he sat courtside at the Clippers game, and when a Meek fan tried to taunt him, he totally cracked up. Looks like the former Degrassi star is ready to just leave this fight in 2015 and move on!

Intrepid eyewitnesses caught Rihanna, 27, and Drake, 28, filming what appears to be a music video at the Eagle Rock Plaza in Los Angeles late on the night of January 9. The duo has allegedly collaborated on a song called “Work,” and it’s just as good as you’re imagining. We can’t believe this! “Work,” is amazing. Described as a “down-tempo, syrupy dancehall ballad” by Complex, the song is expected to be on Rihanna’s upcoming new (and eighth) album, ANTI. It’s unclear what the lyrics are, but there’s a beautiful verse from Rihanna in one clip, and a hot snippet featuring Drake in the other. We can barely understand it, but we’re already loving this insane beat! This is bound to be a hit.
Founder Of HipTV, Ayo Animashaun Claims The Headies Awards Organizers Receive Death Threats
Ayo Animashaun who is the founder of HipTV and the executive producer of the Headies awards during a recent interview he had with Sunday spice said, the organizers of The awards usually get death threats from artistes.

Are you worried that the recent controversy may have marred the reputation you have built in 10 years?
I am not worried and there is nothing to worry about. I could if it was my meal ticket but it is not. Although we have had sponsors, but in the past five or six years, we have organised the Headies Awards singlehandedly, and this requires a lot of financial commitment. Artistes always disagree with awards. Some were vocal while others were not. This is not the first time something like this is happening. The screening team put in a lot of work.
What system was adopted for the voting process?
There was an online voting system which collects the phone numbers and email of voters and the votes are automatically counted. That way, you would see who won and who did not. It is devoid of any form of rigging because you cannot vote more than once in one hour. There are different voting categories and some are strictly left for the judges to decide. It is easy to discover if anyone voted or not. Two years ago, we stopped the SMS voting because our SMS partner complained that people came to them to lobby for votes. We did not want our credibility to become an issue. Artistes should learn to check the year under review and understand the definition of each category. People should always vote, or else another artiste will win over the one they like.
Were the awards lobbied for?
People try to lobby and it is not just right to mention names. Some have even offered to buy the cars. We bought three out of the eight cars that have been given out. We started giving out cars when the category became big and we did not want to stop. Revelation of the Year is supposed to be bigger than Next Rated but people attach more importance to it because it comes with a price and Nigerians like freebies. With all sense of humility and responsibility, the artistes cannot pay us and we cannot collect money from them. It is not in our character and we are not greedy. The award plaque is a 21-karat gold plaque and it is mounted on marble. We want to genuinely support the system.
Some people are of the opinion that some of the winning were undeserved.
If you do not vote, the win would be undeserved. It is the same thing as a political election. No one has the right to complain if they did not vote. The voting was poor this year. Most people took the voting for granted and did not vote, so how can they decide who should win and who should not? They should find out if the winners did anything other than just turning up for the awards. At least, someone would be angry enough to say we collected some money from him or her. We deserve some respect if that has not happened in 10 years, why should it occur at this time? We had an average of 500 nominees and over 109 winners.
Some also believe the results were influenced
I would feel offended if i’m ever asked whether we collected money from any artiste. I am like a father to them and I try not to meddle or prefer any artiste over the other. We did not influence the results submitted by the screening team and we also did not reveal the identities of all members of the jury. People have gone to the extent of threatening lives if their artistes do not win. I have reported some of them to the police too.
Fans believe Olamide should apologise to you. Has he?
Olamide is like a son to me. What he did was to the Headies and not to me but he has apologised to me personally. He knows the right thing to do because The Headies is a platform that has celebrated a lot of artistes including him. He and Don Jazzy apologised to me the next day. As the executive producer of the award, I do not act unilaterally, I have a board and we have a disciplinary team and very soon, they will come up with a statement on how to handle the whole issue. We would make it public.

In this day and age- where everyone carries around a smart phone and has access to the Internet, you may wonder about the practicality of business cards.
These questions beg to be asked:
- How important are business cards if you’re a student
- How important are business cards if you’re unemployed?
- Do you still need one if you’re a creative or not looking for a job?
The short answer is YES.
Every man needs a business card or a calling card.
You need a business card for the sole reason that it provides an easy way for other people to get in touch with you.
A business card is necessary for 4 reasons:
1. Business cards give people the ability to follow up
When you meet someone and develop that instant rapport you want to give them a chance to follow up with you instantly without having to reach for a pen or their phone.
If left with no other choice do not hesitate to hand over your phone to the other person and have him type in his contact details and vice versa.
Another option is to use phone apps that allow the gadgets to exchange contact information.
Although these options are available to many there will always be instances where you meet someone who may not have all of these technological things on them or isn’t comfortable using them.
This is why nothing can still replace the business card in encouraging people to follow up with you.
2. Business cards show that you are a professional
The littlest things we do send out the biggest messages.
Something as simple as a business card is indicative that you took the time to actually put your information in a card. This immediately separates you from 99% of the other men out there who may be students like you or are out there seeking a job like yourself.
3. Having a business card keeps one focused on the goal
In situations where one is trying to look for work it is not unusual to participate in a few networking events.
If you decide to go to events like these with a certain number of business cards on your person then you can immediately create a goal for yourself.
An example of a goal would be to make to distribute the 50 business cards that you brought along to the event. You can also create secondary goals such as collect at least 20 of others’ business cards or have at least 15 to 20 people express interest in following up with you.
If you decide to approach networking events in this manner then your business cards can serve as a reminder and keep you focused on the goal -which is to follow up with people regarding possible opportunities.
4. Business cards can help make you referable
A good business card will not only contain one’s name and contact details. It should also mention what that person’s skills are.
Having this extra detail can make all the difference because although the person that you initially give your business card may not know what to do with you and your skills, he may know someone in his network that has in need of someone like you.
It is good to remember that random encounters with different people happen all the time. And when they do, you always want to be prepared to take advantage of these meetings and the opportunities that could arise from them.
To me there is no such thing as luck.
Luck happens when preparation meets opportunity.
In saying that make sure that you always have your business cards with you so when opportunity comes you are already prepared and you too may get “lucky” and find success.
