The Lagos State Police Command has refuted the claims by Damini Ogulu a.k.a ‘Burna Boy’s management, Spaceship Entertainment, that the musician has honoured police invitation and that he is not wanted.

The Lagos State Police Command Wednesday said that ‘Burna Boy’ was yet to report himself to the police and that he is still on the run.

The command in a statement, signed by ASP Olarinde Famous-cole, Police public relations officer, said that only Burna Boy’s father, one Samuel Ogulu visited the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) in-charge of the case with the promise to bring Burna Boy before the police. The Command however uses this medium to urge Burna Boy’s father and relatives to do right by bringing the musician and turning him in to the police before the long arm of the law catches up with him. The command assures that justice will be done. Spaceship Entertainment, Tuesday, in a statement said Burna Boy was never declared wanted by the Nigerian Police because he has already honored the invitation served on him on Monday, November 20th, 2017 and that And that Burna Boy was not in any way involved with the robbery and beating up of Grafton Records’ Artiste, Mr. 2Kay on the 22nd of October, 2017. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgar on Monday, declared the controversial dancehall singer Burna boy, wanted, in connection with the robbery and assault case on singer, Mr. 2Kay, which occurred on October 22, 2017, in his room at Eko Hotel and Suites after performing at 2Face’s Buckwyld and Breathless Concert, The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Edgar Imohimi, speaking to Channels said the suspects were tracked through footage caught on the CCTV cameras installed in the hotel. He said, “At about 2am, someone knocked on the door of Mr 2Kay’s room and introduced himself as a room service official from the reception. Mr 2Kay opened the door and four men entered with a gun. “They robbed him of his Audemais Piquet, an automatic gold wristwatch valued at $25,000; gold jewellery valued at N1.5m; an iPhone 7 valued at N380,000, a Samsung Galaxy S7 valued at N240,000, Samsung Galaxy S5 worth N110,000; Adidas shoes valued at N75,000; three bottles of perfume worth N180,000, and a cash sum of N45,000.” “During the investigations, the girlfriend of one of the gang members, Nimota Mutajero, was arrested. Her confession led to the arrest of three suspects. They confessed that one Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, an artiste, through his road manager, one Joel Kantiock, contacted and paid them to rob Mr 2Kay to teach him a lesson. “Kantiock was subsequently picked up in his hideout in Zaria, Kaduna State. “He confessed that his boss, Burna Boy, instructed him to look for armed men that could rob Mr. 2Kay. Burna Boy mobilised the gang with an initial cash sum of N50,000 and a subsequent sum of N50,000 when the job had been completed.” “I advise Ogulu aka Burna Boy, to report himself at the nearest police station since efforts to locate him at his residence or any known hangouts, have proved abortive,” the police chief said.
