Who is Jovit Baldivino?

Jovit Lasin Baldivino was a famous Filipino singer and actor, and the first winner of the reality talent competition show Pilipinas Got Talent in 2010.

He would sing to guests at birthday parties where he would sing. Baldivino joined the first season of the multi-talent game show Pilipinas Got Talent as a singer intending to use the prize money he could win to assist deliver his family out of poverty in 2010. At the time, he was a high school student, both his parents were jobless, and his father recovering from tuberculosis. Baldivino would win the grand finals of the talent competition by performing a cover of ”Too Much Love Will Kill You” by Queen.

Following his success at Pilipinas Got Talent, he continued to launch his own albums. Among his tracks is ”Pusong Bato” and ”Ikay” Mahal Pa Rin”. ”Pusong Bato” was initially composed and performed by Renee dela Rosa and his band Alon, which was included as part of the soundtrack for the ABS-CBN television series Juan dela Cruz. Other singles he covered consist of ”Faithfully” by Journey and ”Too Much Love Will Kill You”. Baldivino’s last television appearance would be as a contestant for Team Forda Win! in the November 28, 2022 episode of GMA’s Family Feud.

Death

He was rushed to the Jesus of Nazareth Hospital in Batangas City following experiencing difficulty of breathing after performing a song during a Christmas party on December 3, 2022. Baldivino subsequently suffered a mid-hemorrhagic stroke and became comatose following an operation. Jovit never regained consciousness and finally died because of a brain aneurysm on December 9, 2022, nearly a week after being rushed to the hospital. He died at the age of 29 years.
