Mick Mars Biography, Music, Age, Family, Spouse, and Net Worth
Who is Mick Mars?
Robert Alan Deal professionally known as Mick Mars is a famous American musician and the lead guitarist and co-founder of the heavy metal band Motley Crue. The deal is known for his aggressive, melodic solos and bluesy riffs.
Mick Mars Career
Mars dropped out of high school and started playing guitar in a series of unsuccessful blue-based rock bands throughout the 1970s. Sometimes he used the name Zorky Charlemagne and occasionally took on menial day jobs. One of the bands, Whitehorse, had a vocalist called Mucki Marz who inspired the later name change. The name Motley Crue came about following Mars remembered someone referring to an old band he was in as a ” motley looking crew.” Following almost a decade of frustration with the California music scene, Deal reinvented himself, changing his name from Robert Deal to Mick Mars, and dyeing his hair jet black, hoping for a fresh start.
Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx were putting together a new band which would soon become Motley Crue. They contacted Mras and hired him following hearing him play. He has been the guitarist for Motley Crue since then. In 2015, Mars played with the band on what was reported at the time to be its last tour. Later it was revealed that he was working on a solo album with former Motley Crue member John Corabi. He has contributed songwriting to John LeCompt, a former member of Evanescence and the other band members of Machina, and the Swedish band Crashdiet. Their 2nd album, The Unattractive Revolution, was launched on October 3, 2007, and featured 2 tracks co-written by Mars.
2008-present
He then played guitar on the title track of Hinder’s 2008 album Take It to the Limit. Mars also contributed a guitar solo to the song ”Into the Light” by Papa Roach, on their 2009 album Metamorphosis. He then contributed a guitar solo to the song ”The Question” on Rock Star Supernova runner-up Dilana’s U.S. debut album Inside Out. In 2010, Mars co-wrote a song with Escape the Fate for the band’s self-titled album, which was instead withheld from the album and reserved for a later launch. He co-wrote and appears in the music video of the single ”Boss’s Daughter” by Pop Evil on their 2011 album War of Angels.
Mick launched a new song, ”The Way I’m Wired”, with Black Smoke Trigger in November 2018. He was also featured on the hit song ”Outlaws & Outsiders” by Cory Marks. On October 26, 2022, he revealed his retirement from touring with Motley Crue. The following day, Motley Crue confirmed that John 5 had replaced Mars.
