This eventually led to weeks of public outlash from subscribers and music power-players like Kendrick Lamar who threatened to pull all of his music from the platform. The company would eventually pull back their policy, apologize and reinstate the late Florida rapper’s music earlier this month on June 2.
Now following the rapper’s untimely death, his music sales have not only skyrocketed upwards of 542,566%, but his 2018 album single “Sad!” has now just surpassed Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” for Spotify’s single day streaming record.
