Atletico Madrid’s CEO, Gil Martin, has announced that Antoine Griezmann is set to play for Barcelona this summer.
According to him, the club was aware that Griezmann would join Barcelona since March.
“We know since last March that Griezmann is going to Barcelona,” he told Sport.
Griezmann had last month told Atletico that he would deposit his €120m release clause by July.
The player’s release clause is €200million after he signed a new contract with Atletico just last summer, but the figure dropped to €120m euros from July 1.
It is expected that Griezmann would sign a five-year deal at the Nou Camp.
